Course Structure
This course will be available to attend as a classroom or web based delegate. It is being offered by Class 7 Ltd in conjunction with Nuclear Transport Solutions as a hybrid event.

The event will be available to attend remotely as a webinar delegate or, when government, company and social circumstances permit, as a physical classroom student. Use the Web and Classroom buttons below to identify your prefered method of attendance.

The course will combine traditional teaching sessions attended in class or via Microsoft Teams with online self-testing learning methods. On completion of the event delegates will have access to the online resources for the whole of the following week up to 4 February 2022 and will be required to undertake the online examination before the end of 4 February 2022 when free online access will be terminated.

Course Outline:
This three day study includes hands-on practical training that encompasses the routine tasks of package marking and labelling, document creation, vehicle marking and placarding and all of the other duties routinely involved in ADR road consignment and transport. The course will provide the skills needed to meet the requirement for Specific Skills to be demonstrated by all operational practitioners.

All those involved in the routines of radioactive material consignment and transport for the power, defence and radiopharmaceuticals industries, University staff, Health Service professionals, Industrial Radiographers, non-destructive testing personnel.

Purpose:
To provide the skills required to successfully perform the routine tasks associated with radioactive material consignment and transport by road in the UK and internationally.

Attainment level:
Proven ability to meet the function-specific training requirements and to operate the day-to-day control and judgement systems of the road transport regulations for the UK and on an international basis.

Test method:
Two hour online examination covering all aspects of routine radioactive material consignment and transport by road in the UK and internationally, to be completed in the week following the training course.

Class 7 Transport - Basic Understanding Study test pass or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.

General provisions: authorisations, radiation protection, compliance assurance programmes

Classification: regulatory thresholds, A1/A2 limits, LSA, SCO, special form, contamination

Packaging: general requirements, criteria for selection and performance, certification

Identification of class 7: selection of proper shipping names and UN numbers

Class 7 consignor tasks: Approvals, Notifications, Categories, Exclusive Use; TI calculations, CSI

Marks, labels, placards: package marking and labelling, label completion, vehicle plates and placards

Transport documentation: nature/detail of entries, carrier information, tremcards, authorisations

Protection: general duties, high consequence dangerous goods,

DGSA: requirements, qualifications and duties

Driver licensing: Examination and certification, Carriage of documents

Transport: vehicles, equipment, loading, segregation, activity limits, contamination, crew duties, parking, tunnels
